WALSH: Pain, the great humbler

Life finds so many ways to keep me humble. Whether it’s hiding my eyeglasses in plain sight, my inability to remember whether I charged my phone the previous night, or the often Herculean task of getting through the day without a coffee stain on my shirt.

Entering act two

My priorities are changing now that I’m in Act Two of my life. Though, to be honest, maybe it’s more like Act 2.5 by now.

Serve and love

When my good friend lay dying of cancer, I didn’t know where to turn. A tragedy of that magnitude has a way of upending daily life as we know it and changing our view of the way things are supposed to be.

Is the end near?

Back in the 60s when the world seemed like it was coming unhinged every other day, I walked through Greenwich Village…
