Plum Island documentary featuring Sam Waterston premieres this week

A new documentary film focusing on the conservation of Plum Island and featuring Academy Award nominee Sam Waterston will air for the first time on Connecticut Public Television stations across the state this Saturday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m.

The final 2016 walk of the Mianus River Gorge series exploring properties not normally open to the public will feature a tour of South Lockwood and the Gorge’s newest land acquisitions on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 11-1.

CT Audubon Society releases State of the Birds report

The Connecticut Audubon Society today released its Connecticut State of the Birds 2015 report, “Protecting and Connecting Large Landscapes,” and called for an increased emphasis on habitat connectivity and land preservation to improve the chances of survival for many of the state’s fish, bird, reptile, and mammal species.
