Call for blankets and holiday bedtime bags

Bridgeport Rescue Mission seeks donations of blankets and bedtime bags through Dec. 16. “Bedtime bags” are distributed to children and are filled with a book, stuffed animal, a washcloth and soap, and a toothbrush and toothpaste.

Food drive Feb. 2 at Stop & Shop in Norwalk

On Feb. 2, Diageo employees will be on hand at Stop & Shop in Norwalk on Main Avenue from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to collect items the Bridgeport Rescue Mission needs most.

Bridgeport Rescue Mission provides holiday gifts for local families in need

Nearly 900 men, women and children from low-income families in the community were provided with gifts and warm holiday fellowship at Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s holiday distribution on Sunday, Dec. 18.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday, Dec. 13 to celebrate the opening of Gateway House, a deeply affordable housing property owned and operated by Pacific House for 16 homeless individuals. The property was developed by Charles Connor of A. Emerson Construction.
