Swim Across America Greenwich-Stamford June 24

On Saturday, June 24, more than 200 swimmers and 100 land volunteers, boaters and kayakers will make waves in the fight to defeat cancer in the 11th annual Swim Across America Greenwich-Stamford Swim.

Brooke Lorenz of Riverside, Connecticut, will participate in the 10th annual Swim Across America Greenwich-Stamford Swim on June 25th. This will be Brooke’s 8th year swimming. Brooke was diagnosed at age 17 with Hodgkin’s lymphoma a few months before graduating from Greenwich High School. Brooke is now celebrating being five years cancer-free at this year’s Swim.

Philanthropist, president and co-founder of ACGT receives award

Barbara Netter — the president and co-founder of Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT), a Stamford-based nonprofit devoted to advancing cancer research and treatment — has been awarded the John H. Filer Award by the Connecticut Council of Philanthropy.

Registration open for 9th annual Swim Across America Greenwich-Stamford Swim

Swim Across America Greenwich-Stamford cancer-fighting swim is scheduled for June 27; Greenwich moms of cancer survivors chair the event.
