Library to hold workshops on starting a business

Thinking about starting your own business or having trouble getting it off the ground?

If you feel you need some help, then you can join the Greenwich Library for Simple Steps for Starting Your Business, a five-session series starting Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m. The series, co-sponsored by Fairfield County SCORE and the library’s Peterson Business series, is designed to help avoid start-up pitfalls and put  participants on the road to success.

The workshop will help participants define and evaluate ideas, develop a marketing strategy and identify the best ways to fund the startup. They will also learn to turn ideas into action with tools and templates, get useful and helpful mentoring sessions as well as connect with other entrepreneurs.

The first session will cover what starting a small business is all about — the challenges, the opportunities, the requirements and the choices. Sessions two through five will lead participants through steps to build a business plan while minimizing mistakes and maximizing growth and profit potential.

All presentations are given by senior SCORE mentors with proven track records of success. SCORE mentors will be available for one-on-one counseling.

Advanced registration is required. Visit, click workshops, then select the Simple Steps for Starting Your Business program. For more information, contact Fairfield County SCORE at [email protected] or 203-831-0065.
