Second annual Polar Bear Plunge set

Community members with an adventurous side are invited to take part in a mid-winter dip in the Long Island Sound on Feb. 24,  as part of the Family Centers’ Associate Board’s second annual Polar Bear Plunge.

All proceeds from the event will benefit The Den for Grieving Kids — a Family Centers program that offers free bereavement counseling and support to kids and families coping with the loss of a loved one. Last year’s event raised more than $5,000.

The plunge takes place at 11 a.m. at the offices of Geneve Holdings, located at 96 Cummings Point Road in Stamford. Light food will be available to all participants and spectators beginning at 10 a.m. A post-plunge party will be held at the Beach House Café, located at 220 Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich, immediately following.
