Greenwich boys ice hockey beats Wilton High, 3-1

The Greenwich High School boys ice hockey team hosted Wilton High School earlier today and came away with the 3-1 victory.

After a scoreless first period, Greenwich got on the board at the 12:24 mark of the second period. Paul Macken took the puck and dished it to Billy Lewis, who found the back of the net and beat WHS goalie Nicholas Wells for the 1-0 lead.

Although Wilton knotted the game at 1-1 when David Craven beat GHS goalie Bryan Anchino less than 90 seconds into the third period, Big Red came storming back.

Less than three minutes later, Macken got the unassisted goal at the 4:11 mark to give Greenwich a 2-1 lead. The Cards added to the lead less than 45 second later, as Luke Finneran passed to Brian Silard, who netted the goal to give Greenwich the 3-1 advantage.
