Debunking divorce myths

For those coping with divorce, the Jewish Family Services (JFS) of Greenwich is offering a free seminar called Divorce Mythbusters on Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at One Holly Hill Lane. For divorce professionals, therapists and people who may be contemplating divorce, the seminar is aiming to dispel a number of divorce myths including: “Everything is split 50/50,” “If I move out, the Judge will say I’ve abandoned my house/my kids,” “The credit cards are in his name, so all of the debt is his,” “Mediation? That can’t work for us” and more.

Presenters at this myth debunking event include Maurice Segall of Mediation Solutions, an experienced attorney mediator who has successfully helped many divorcing couples through the mediation process in a very cost-effective and non-adversarial way and Lili Vasileff, founder of Divorce & Money Matters, LLC and a nationally recognized financial expert in divorce and fee only financial planning, with more than 30 years of experience in divorce financial planning, financial mediation and wealth management services.

There is no charge for this seminar, but space is limited and registration is required.

To register, contact Tatiama Nichiforova at JFS at 203-622 -1881 or [email protected]
