Greenwich Reform Synagogue celebrates Purim

Friday, March 2, Tot Shabbat at 5:30 p.m., Shabbat dinner at 6, Purim Spiel at 7.

  • Bring your preschoolers at 5:30 for a special Purim Tot Shabbat.
  • At 6, all are invited to enjoy the Family Shabbat Dinner. Let us know what you would like to bring for dinner.
  • At 7, join us for the most wacky, playful service of the year. Purim is the day the world is turned upside down, so get ready for a fun, interactive service. Our GRS teen drama troupe will be putting on their own Purim Shpiel, Rabbi Jordie will be leading the service dressed as Wonder Woman (in an Israeli accent), and we’ll sing and laugh together.

Saturday, March 3, 10-11:30 a.m., Adult Ed

Rabbi Jordie Gerson will share original insights into the Book of Esther, considering the “absence” of God, and learning how the Rabbis wrote God back into the story of Esther, and into the Jewish story as well.

Sunday, March 4, 10-noon, Purim Carnival

Food, games, prizes and a bounce castle. Remember to come in costume.

All events take place at Greenwich Reform Synagogue, 92 Orchard Street, Cos Cob. RSVP to 203-629-0018.
