St. Barnabas Episcopal Church announces Transfiguration

St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 954 Lake Avenue, Greenwich hosts Transfiguration Sunday, Feb. 11, at 4:15 p.m.

Imagine celebrating the Transfiguration as it was done in the early 1700s in Leipzig, Germany. Featuring instrumentation of the period in a Vesper setting, the St. Barnabas Choir and the Bach Collegium Orchestra and Soloists will present Bach Cantatas No. 22 & No. 23, under the joint direction of Bálint Karosi, award winning composer, and Michael Roush, director of Music at St. Barnabas. There also will be an opportunity for everyone to participate in singing hymns accompanied by the Richards, Fowkes organ.

Ticket are $40 for general seating and may be purchased at the door or online at Concertgoers age 16 and under are free of charge.

Meet the artist receptions for the 2017-2018 [email protected] concert series is sponsored by Happiness is Catering and Horseneck Wines & Liquors. These companies will host short receptions immediately following the concerts so that guests can have a special opportunity to meet the musicians.
