Greenwich Land Trust holds Blue Moon Hike

The Greenwich Land Trust will hold a Blue Moon Hike on Tuesday, Jan. 30, from 5-6:30 p.m.

On Jan. 31, there will be a lunar eclipse that involves the second full moon of the month, popularly referred to as a Blue Moon. Such a sky watching event hasn’t happened for more than 150 years.

Come along on a medium-intensity moonlit hike through Greenwich Land Trust’s Lapham Preserve. Attendees will end up in an open field for smores and telescope viewing of the moon on the eve of the full moon and lunar eclipse. Astronomer Rick Bria, of the Astronomical Society of Greenwich will share his knowledge and answer questions. Flashlights and snacks provided.

Meet at Lapham Preserve, between 85 and 95 Richmond Hill Road, Greenwich.

Cost is $15/members; $30/nonmembers.
