Department of Social Services hosts holiday aid program events

The Department of Social Services Holiday Aid Program is getting ready for two upcoming annual events this week.

Annual Angel Tree Distribution

Parents of children age 0-17 who are clients of the Department of Social Services requested specific clothing and toy items for their children, which were given to five different groups in the community. Gifts will be returned, wrapped, with the children’s first name on the package, and distributed to the families on Tuesday, Dec. 20. Set up in the morning until noon; families arrive for pick up from 1-5:30 p.m., in the Town Hall Meeting Room, Town Hall, Greenwich.

Annual Toy Distribution

Parents of eligible children age 0-14 who are clients of the Department of Social Services have the opportunity to choose unwrapped toys, hats, gloves and other items. Toys are donated by many groups and individuals in the community. Invitations were sent to more than 250 families, representing about 500 children. Set up is on Friday, Dec. 16, from noon-4. Distribution is from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., in the Community Room, Agnes Morley Heights, 249 Milbank Avenue.
