Greenwich Holiday Stroll Weekend kicks off Dec. 3

The 8th annual Greenwich Holiday Stroll Weekend presented by Whole Foods Market will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4, from noon to 5 p.m. The event will feature a live Nativity, horse drawn carriage rides, professional ice sculpture demos, music and entertainment, children’s activities, live reindeer and photos with Santa, plus more than 125 Greenwich merchants and restaurants offering special promotions, refreshments and in-store attractions.

First Selectman Peter Tesei has issued a proclamation declaring December 3 and 4, 2016 as Holiday Stroll Days to encourage the community to enjoy the festivities and support local merchants this season. The participating retailers and activities may be found on an interactive map accessed online at GreenwichReindeerFestival.com and by mobile devices. Saturday’s free parking is sponsored by the Greenwich Town Party, Richards and Pray Body Shop. Parking is free on Sundays.

At the Stroll there are several ways to contribute to Kids in Crisis. 100% of the proceeds of the Dance It Out Class at Arthur Murray both days go directly to Kids in Crisis. $5 of every wreath over $50 purchased at Sam Bridge during the Stroll will go to Kids in Crisis and $5 from every photo with Santa on Saturday at Sam Bridge will go to Kids in Crisis. The activities at the Stroll are free to the community — free horse and carriage rides, free entertainment — 18 musical groups will be performing throughout the weekend. There also will be a free family art workshop at the Greenwich Arts Council and more.
