Mianus River Gorge hike Dec. 4

The final 2016 walk of the Mianus River Gorge series exploring properties not normally open to the public will feature a tour of South Lockwood and the Gorge’s newest land acquisitions on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 11-1.

Led by MRG Executive Director Rod Christie, hikers will explore the high ridges and diverse wetlands of one of the Gorge’s outlying properties, including wetlands, craggy rock outcroppings and rare wildlife they protect. The ridgeline has wonderful wintertime views of the valleys and wetlands below.

This is a moderate hike of less than a mile over up-and-down topography (no trail). Please wear good walking shoes. If it is cold, hot chocolate will be provided. Severe winter weather will cancel. Call the office at 914-234-3455 if in doubt.

RSVP by emailing [email protected] or calling 914-234-3455.
