Documentary photographer shares photos of Himalayas and Ladakh

Retired Men’s Association of Greenwich, Inc. (RMA) hosts documentary photographer Daryl Hawk to its next meeting Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church, Lafayette Place, Greenwich. Hawk will share his photos and experiences from his trip to the Himalayas and Ladakh.

Have you ever been to a place where the beauty of nature is so striking that you want to keep it in mind always?  Daryl Hawk goes to these places and wants to share photos of such a place, his trip to the Himalayas and Ladakh in northern India with you.

Daryl Hawk is a documentary photographer, who for over 30 years has traveled to some of the most remote places around the world taking photographs for magazines and presentations. He has appeared on the “Today Show” showing his work.

Hawk is a member of the Explorers Club based out of New York City as well as the Royal Geographical Society. He has carried the Explorers Club flag to Bhutan, which is one of the club’s greatest privileges. According to the club’s Web site, “A flag expedition must further the cause of exploration and field science.”

Daryl was formerly host of a Cablevision TV show called The Unconventional Traveler where he interviews some of the world’s most renowned explorers. Guests on his show have included Buzz Aldrin and Jane Goodall.

Hawk also owns a photography business named Hawk Photography based out of Wilton, Connecticut in which he and his team shoot weddings, portraits and other events. He has published four books: Distant Journeys includes a compilation of 150 colored photographs, Quiet Moments consists of 120 miscellaneous travel photographs, Manhattan and Into the Heart of Cuba.

The Greenwich Retired Men’s Association offers a free program every Wednesday that is open to the public, both men and women; no reservations are required.
