Greenwich based TV personality in charity pageant for Animal Avengers

Greenwich based TV personality, motivational speaker, author and spokeswoman Allyson Spellman is representing the state of Connecticut in the Ms. New England States charity pageant on Oct. 23 in Rhode Island.

Spellman is currently an ambassador for Animal Avengers, a non-profit organization founded by actress and director Shannon Elizabeth.

Elizabeth who has appeared in over 50 films and television shows started Animal Avengers in 2001 as a cat and dog rescue that has now evolved to helping animals on a bigger scale while also helping the communities around them and ultimately the ecosystem and planet.

Spellman says “Personally meeting Shannon changed my life and inspired my commitment to become an even louder voice for those who have none. After we met, I knew, there was no turning back or sitting on the sidelines any longer. I am now 100% dedicated to being an active part of saving our animals from extinction, suffering and abuse.”

She continues “I am truly grateful and honored to participate in the Ms. New England States charity pageant. It is providing a wonderful platform to raise awareness and funds for this cause so close to my heart.”

To support Animal Avengers through the charity pageant Allyson created an online fundraising page with all donations going directly to the non-profit.

“The saying ‘every little bit counts’ is frequently said but it is true. It does make a difference.”
