Holiday wheels

The Leader’s Institute is on a roll and children at the YMCA will soon have the bikes to prove it. The insitute recently donated five boys and five girls bicycles to the YMCA of Greenwich.

The bicycles were built as part of a team building exercise by employees of Pfizer Medical Information group, led by The Leader’s Institute.

“We like to donate to organizations that have an impact in their community,” Regional Instructor for the Institute Mitesh Kapadia said. “The YMCA of Greenwich offers a lot of resources to the community. By donating to them, we know these bicycles will ultimately find a home with a young person who otherwise might not be able to afford one.”

In accepting the donation, YMCA of Greenwich CEO Ed Philipp said, “We are pleased to accept this donation. The fact that The Leader’s Institute recognized the Y’s commitment to our community means we are doing our job right. We want to make sure that when a need is identified that we are able to fill that need whenever possible. This holiday season 10 young people will receive a new bike and helmet. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”

The YMCA of Greenwich gave away the 10 bicycles, along with helmets, during the holiday season to children in need.
