Remembering veterans

On Veterans Day three local patriotic hereditary organizations visited Putnam Cottage, which was known as Knapp’s Tavern during the American Revolution, to commemorate those who have served our country and are serving. The site is where General Israel putnam fought off the British invasion on Feb. 26, 1779, and protected Greenwich’s citizens. Above, Tom Gorin, president of the Matthew Mead Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Michelle Allen, regent of the Putnam Hill Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Jason Bacon, president of the Mary Bush Society, Children of the American Revolution (CAR). Those interested in joining these organizations can contact Katie Bacon at [email protected]
