Honoring Newtown

The 3,000 students and staff who call Greenwich High School home recently gathered on Tuesday to honor and pay respects to Newtown and Sandy Hook Elementary School after the tragic deaths of 20 children and six adults. Amazing Grace was sung by the GHS Chamber Singers led by Patrick Taylor and brief words of peace were shared by GHS Headmaster Chris Winters, the student government president and Superintendent of Schools William McKersie. The Student Center was packed, with all demonstrating dignified compassion for Newtown, and a banner showing the community’s support was put on display.
