Tom Chapin and Friends perform free family concert

The Ashforth Children’s Concert Series and Curiosity Concerts will present Tom Chapin and Friends Saturday, June 11, at 3 p.m., at the Greenwich Library’s Cole Auditorium, 101 W. Putnam Avenue.

Chapin’s program My Pretty Planet is a lively, interactive, and fun-filled performance engaging the hearts, minds, and imaginations of young listeners and adults alike. Witty, life-affirming original songs convey positive messages about family, good food, and the green earth.

In a career that spans five decades, 24 recordings, and three Grammy awards, Tom Chapin has covered an expansive creative ground. In addition to his work as a recording artist and concert performer, Chapin has acted on Broadway and works extensively in television, radio, and film. As a music-maker, Chapin has maintained two long and productive parallel careers, both as a respected contemporary folk artist and as a pioneer in the field of children’s music.

This concert is the finale of Curiosity Concerts’ 2015-2016 season. A post-concert reception includes refreshments provided by Whole Foods Market Greenwich.

Tickets are free but required and may be reserved at Please reserve only if you are certain to attend, as the concerts are often oversubscribed.

The Ashforth Concert Series is designed to introduce children to classical music performance. The concert is open to the public at no charge through the support of Georgie and Henry A. Ashforth.  Curiosity Concerts, now in its third season, is a series of free family concerts featuring professional musicians and designed for children of any age who can enjoy one hour of music. It is a project of the Greenwich Arts Council. The two programs collaborate on three concerts every year.
