Brunswick student leads clothing drive

Building upon a tradition started last year, Reed Schultz, a Brunswick School junior, has announced the start of the his second annual winter holiday clothing drive known simply as “Thanks For Giving.” Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Connecticut will be this year’s recipient of the donated goods. The effort helps to fund their vital mentoring program.

Reed noted that for last year’s drive, “We were so grateful for the enormous response from the community. Hundreds of pounds of clothing found a new life helping those in need. This year, we hope to do even better.”

In addition to several other drop-off points in lower Fairfield County, Reed has recruited Fairfield County Bank branches throughout the area to also serve as drop-off sites. Residents are urged to drop off gently used clothing and shoes at area Fairfield County Bank branches during regular business hours, now through Dec. 27.
