American Cancer Society announces committee to lead the Peter Tesei Roast

The American Cancer Society announces Steve Folb of Fairfield and FJ Mercede of Stamford as co-chairs for the American Cancer Society’s annual “Local Philanthropist Roast” set for Thursday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m., at The Hyatt Regency of Greenwich, 1800 E Putnam Ave. This year’s honoree is Fairfield County’s Peter Tesei, First Selectman of the Town of Greenwich.

Longtime volunteers of the Society, Folb and Mercede have collaborated together on a capital campaign that led to the construction of the American Cancer Society’s Regional Center at 38 Richards Avenue in Norwalk. They have also been instrumental in establishing and building the annual Roast, raising more than $1.5 million to support cancer programs and research. Other members of the committee include Megan Couch of Weston, Greg Durkin of Stamford, and Barbara Heim of Greenwich, CT.

Proceeds from The Peter Tesei Roast and the event’s unique live auction, Hand Up For Hope will be benefiting the American Cancer Society and its research program. Tickets, program book advertising and sponsorship opportunities are now available by calling 203-563-1512 or via email at [email protected].
