Greenwich turnout for Prez Primary

Less than 7% of the Republican vote in Greenwich separated the winner, Trump (48.1%) and Kasich, the runner-up (41.44%), a difference of 416 votes (3,007 to 2,591).

Trump easily won statewide — and all 28 Connecticut GOP delegates — with more than 58% of the vote, compared to 28% for Kasich and 11.67% for Ted Cruz, who received 552 votes (8.83% of the turnout) in Greenwich.

Clinton coasted in Greenwich with 68% of the vote, compared to less than 31% for Sanders.

Among all Connecticut Democrats, Clinton carried nearly 51% of the vote, Sanders 47%.

The Democratic delegate count saw Clinton picking up 27, Sanders 25.

There are 20779 eligible voters.

As of 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, with some counts still pending from 76 towns around the state, Trump and Clinton led in the unofficial tallies posted by Secretary of the State Denise Merrill.
Trump was easily winning Connecticut’s Republican primary with more than 58% of the vote, the only GOP hopeful to surpass 100,000 votes (109,081). Kasich was a distant second with slightly more than 28% of the vote, while Cruz was the choice of 11.67% of the Connecticut Republicans who voted Tuesday. The Secretary of the State reported turnout at nearly 49% of registered Republicans in Connecticut.
Clinton carried 51% of the Democrats who voted, compared to 47% for Sanders. Democratic turnout was 46%.
