Greenwich High girls ice hockey wins second game in as many days

Playing two games in as many days is no problem for the Greenwich High School girls ice hockey team.

After beating Ridgefield High School on Wednesday, 3-1, Big Red returned home and took care of the Staples/Stamford/Staples combined hockey team, 8-2.

Nobody was better than Maddy Graves, who finished with four goals, including completing a natural hat trick with 1:11 remaining in the opening period.

Erin Ferguson added one goal and three assists, while Emily Bacon added two assists. Teammate Ciel McDermid pitched in with a goal and an assist.

Freshmen Erika Hvolbeck and Amy Wyle scored their first goals in a GHS uniform, while fellow freshman Lisa Lewis started in goalie for the Cardinals and recorded her first career win with the varsity team.
