Wells, Allen are the big winners in Greenwich’s Jingle Bell Jog

Alan Wells of Orlando, Fla., beat out 337 other finishers this past Sunday morning and won the Pathways Jingle Bell Jog road race. Greenwich’s Tara Allen was the female champion, placing sixth overall

Wells, 40, won the 3-mile race through the roads in the center of Greenwich with a time of 15 minutes, 53 seconds.

 

Kenner Clark, 18, of Old Greenwich was 27 seconds behind Wells in the runner-up spot. James Charlton, 42, of Riverside placed third with a time of 17:21. Greenwich 15-year-old Will Berzuk placed fourth with a 17:51. Stamford’s Peter Hohmeister, 55, rounded out the top five with an 18:18.

Allen led the contingent of the top three women who placed sixth through eighth overall.

Allen, 40, was the fastest woman with a time of 18:22. Darien’s Liz Herbert, 44, was the runner-up female and 10 seconds behind Allen. Elizabeth Campbell, 22, from Norwalk placed third among women in 18:44.

Stamford’s Leonardo Bialo, 35, placed ninth overall with a time of 19:02. Mike Beck, 41, of Cos Cob completed the top 10 with a time of 19:16.

Erin Wilson, 30, of Old Greenwich, placed fourth among women and 18th overall with a time of 19:51. Dawn Marinaccio, 40, of Greenwich, was fifth among women and 20th overall with a 20:02.

The other Greenwich residents who placed among the top 25 included 13-year-old Eugene Perry (12th, 19:22), 16-year-old Chad Novak (13th, 19:32), 15-year-old William Bass (15th, 19:44), Carl Marinaccio (16th, 19:48), Chris Eichmann (17th, 19:50), Bruce Semer (23rd, 20:13), David Jones (24th, 20:14) and John Krasniewicz (25th, 20:17). Krasniewicz, 60, won the Men 60-69 age division.

The Pathways Jingle Bell Jog was the 10th and final event of the Volvo of Stamford Greenwich Cup series of races that is presented by Threads & Treads.

The series includes six running races, a swim race, a biathlon, a triathlon and a bicycle race.
