Church to become a ‘Christmas Village’ on Sunday

Watch as the Second Congregational Church turns into a “Christmas Village” this Sunday, Dec. 16, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 139 East Putnam Avenue.

The free festivities will include an inflatable snow village, decorated Main Street store windows, caroling, a horse-drawn carriage ride, a chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and a toy shop where children can make crafts and give toys to those in need. In addition, church Music Director Alexander Constantine will offer a piano performance, and author, illustrator and church member Kevin Wailgum will read from his book about “Santa Clops.” Festive treats like hot chocolate and cookies will also be served.

Reservations are recommended but not required. For more information call Gloria LaDestro at 203-869-9311, ext. 120 or e-mail [email protected]
