Maccabeats to lead festive Chanukah celebration

In honor of the Chanukah holiday, Chabad of Greenwich will present the Maccabeats vocal group for a special Chanukah a cappella concert, Shabbat dinner and menorah lighting on Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. at Carmel Academy.

Often traveling with little more than the shirts on their backs and the ties on their necks, the Maccabeats have entertained and inspired hundreds of audiences worldwide, from Alabama to New Zealand and everywhere in between.

Using nothing more than the unadulterated human voice, a clean-cut presentation and a little Jewish humor, the unique group of singers is able to connect with fans of all backgrounds and ages.

The Maccabeats’ unique talents have caught the eyes of numerous organizations and individuals throughout the world.

They have played sold-out shows to thousands at JCCs, temples, synagogues, shuls, Chabads, Hillels, jazz clubs, festivals, conventions and theaters across five continents and more than thirty states and provinces.

The Maccabeats have also been invited to join reggae superstar Matisyahu and Jewish music superstar Yaakov Shwekey on stage, to Gracie Mansion by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and to the White House by President Barack Obama.
