North Street School hosted children’s book author Dan Gutman

On Thursday, March 25, North Street School welcomed children’s book author Dan Gutman.

Dan Gutman has written a number of book series including My Weird School, The Genius Files, Baseball Card Adventures, My Weird School Daze, My Weirder School, and the Flashback Four, as well as many other books such as The Homework Machine, The Return of the Homework Machine, and more. The My Weird School series alone has sold more than 9 million copies.

Dan describes himself as “a pretty regular Jersey guy who spent fifteen years trying to write newspaper articles, magazine articles, screenplays, books for adults, and just about everything else before I discovered the one thing I’m good at–writing fiction for kids. I aim for kids who DON’T like to read, and hopefully the kids who DO like to read will enjoy my stuff too.”

Thanks to his many fans who voted in their classrooms, Dan has received nineteen state book awards and ninety-two state book award nominations.

He has two children and lives in New York City with his wife, Nina. You can visit him online at www.dangutman.com.

Students who answered questions about Gutman's books qualified to be selected randomly to meet him personally and share lunch with him and ask questions.
