Greenwich Public Schools celebrates Keep Calm — Let Go and Move On

On Thursday, March 24, a majority of students in the Greenwich Public Schools will celebrate Keep Calm — Let Go and Move On in school.

Keep Calm — Let Go and Move On is a common initiative across grade levels to teach students how to recognize, understand and control their feelings and how to remain calm and cope with stress.

Students will:

  • Learn and practice several strategies to relax and quiet their minds, how to breathe and calm their hearts and connect to others in a more peaceful way;
  • Engage in activities that are reinforcing the skills they have learned.

The Keep Calm — Let Go and Move On event is a meaningful initiative as it allows students to learn lifelong skills that will help them manage stress and handle negative feelings.

Mental health professionals and teachers from all GPS schools coordinated the event with the teachers, administrators and students in their respective schools. Lesson plans were disseminated structured around the theme Keep Calm — Let Go and Move On, encouraging teachers to implement them in their own creative ways. In addition, all teachers, staff and students in the GPS and at the Central Office are encouraged to wear the color blue on March 24, expressing their participation in the event.
