Remembering Pearl Harbor

The Greenwich American Legion Post 29 will mark the 71st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor with a short ceremony tomorrow, Dec. 7th, on Greenwich Avenue at the memorial in front of the Board of Education Building and will begin at 7 p.m. sharp.

“It is important that we mark this day with a ceremony each year, as we do September 11th, since these two events had huge impacts on our nation and the directions we took after each,” said Christopher Hughes, commander of American Legion Post 29.

The event is open to the public and will last approximately 15 minutes. It will include brief remarks, a wreath presentation, a rifle salute and the sounding of taps.
