Greenwich High hosts fourth annual St. Baldrick’s head-shaving event

Greenwich High School (GHS) will host the fourth annual head-shaving event to benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation on Thursday, March 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Center at GHS.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation is dedicated to working with leading pediatric oncologists to determine the most promising research to fund, and to create funding priorities to make the greatest impact for children with cancer. On March 17, more than 30 GHS students and staff will volunteer to have their heads shaved to raise money for St. Baldrick’s Foundation. In addition, some students will be donating their hair to “Pantene Beautiful Lengths,” to create real hair wigs for women fighting cancer.

The event has surpassed fund raising goals each year, raising $25,000 in 2013 with a goal of $10,000, $35,000 in 2014 with a goal of $20,000, and $30,000 with a goal of $25,000. The goal this year is $25,000.
