Book Beat returns Dec. 5

Jewish Family Services of Greenwich is continuing to offer its JFS Book Beat: A Woman’s Night Out, which is a book group for women of all ages.

This unique book group includes a diverse mix of fiction, memoir, biography and short stories.

Each book in the series has themes relevant to Jewish women and the next session takes place on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at One Holly Hill Lane.

The group will be reading The Hare with Amber Eyes by Edmund de Waal. This is a nonfiction account by a renowned British ceramicist who inherited a collection of exquisite Japanese netsuke, which are tiny carved creatures.

This book is described as “impossible-to-put down” and JFS says it “takes us into the highest levels of Jewish society in pre- and post-war Europe, with a side trip to Tokyo, and tells the story of one amazing family.”

To register send a $20 check to Jewish Family Services, One Holly Hill Lane, Greenwich, CT 06830 or e-mail Tatiana Nichiforova at [email protected] Mastercard, Visa and AMEX are all accepted. Call 203-622-1881 with any questions.
