Fall programs set for YMCA

The YMCA of Greenwich has announced its fall line-up of exercise classes and programs and in addition to the YMCA’s typical high energy fall offerings, there will be 16 new classes geared toward promoting a healthier, more active lifestyle.

The YMCA has also revamped its swim program to offer a more versatile YMCA Swim School to meet the needs of the Greenwich community.

Registration is underway for the YMCA’s Fall I programming in youth development, healthy living, aquatics and social responsibility. This year there are 17 new programs, including kids yoga, singing, play and move, indoor soccer, floor hockey, martial arts, Operation Family Fit, intro to strength training, girls fast pitch softball, veggiecation, belly dancing, cardio kick, cut above, sports conditioning, total body conditioning, barre fusion, meditation and adult tap dancing.

Ed Philipp, the YMCA’s new CEO, said, “It’s time to get moving. It’s a fresh start for the fall with a fresh lineup of new programs. The Greenwich community has asked us to provide new and fun ways to promote healthier, more active lifestyles, and we have responded to that need. We hope folks will come down and see all the exciting changes going on here. There is literally something for everyone!”

In addition to the new programming, the YMCA’s Aquatics Department has revamped its swimming lesson program to offer The YMCA Swim School. The school will provide a much more versatile and enjoyable experience, for children and adults, to learn to swim, improve their stroke development, enjoy water exercise and develop a lifelong love of the water.
