Hamilton Avenue School assistant principal resigns, interim appointed

Hamilton Avenue School Principal Cindy Rigling sent the following note to school parents and staff today, “Due to personal reasons, Ms. Vargas-Guevara had to resign her position with the District. We wish her well in her future endeavors.

We welcome Trudi Durrell as the Interim Assistant Principal. Durrell is currently the coordinator of ESL/Bilingual education for the GPS. She is familiar with both the district and the specific needs of the Hamilton Avenue community. Durrell will begin to transition from her current role into this position over the next few weeks. She will be a great resource and asset to the Hamilton Avenue School and community as we begin a search for a new Assistant Principal for the 2016-2017 School Year. We are working on setting a date for parents to meet Durrell in the near future and will share that information as soon as possible.”

District administration will develop a short-term plan to cover Durrell’s current ESL program responsibilities.
