Cycle for Survival returns to Greenwich

On February 21Cycle for Survival, the national movement to beat rare cancers, is back in Greenwich. Teams of devoted riders fundraise for research led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). Every dollar raised goes to the cause.

Instructors from Equinox, Cycle for Survival’s founding partner, will lead participants at the high-energy indoor cycling event. The experience includes heart-pumping music, dancing, tributes, and inspiring stories about the impact Cycle for Survival has had since its inception. Doctors, researchers, patients, survivors and supporters will ride together.

In 2016, Cycle for Survival is celebrating its 10th year of events. More than 27,000 riders in 15 cities across the country will participate. Since 2007, Cycle for Survival has raised over $90 million for research, earning recognition as the fastest-growing athletic fundraising event in the nation*. By April 1, Cycle for Survival is expected to reach a major milestone by surpassing $100 million raised to beat rare cancers.

100 percent of the funds donated go to research studies and clinical trials to change the way cancer is diagnosed and treated. About half of all Americans with cancer have rare forms of the disease, which include thyroid, brain, ovarian, pancreatic, all pediatric cancers and many others.

Cycle for Survival is owned and operated by MSK, the nation’s preeminent cancer research institution, which allocates all of the funds raised within six months of the events.
