Deadline approaches for Maritime Aquarium Scout Day

Deadline is approaching on a deal that lets Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts save on admission — and earn a limited-edition patch — during the activity-packed Scout Day on Saturday, March 12 at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.

Discounted Scout Day admission is available to Scouts – and also to adult Scout leaders and to families of Scouts – registering by Mon., Feb. 1. The discounted prices are $11 for Aquarium admission, and $15.75 for Aquarium admission plus an IMAX® movie. These Scout Day prices are the same for all ages, and represent significant savings for adult tickets compared to regular pricing.

Scouts registering by Feb. 1 also receive a unique Maritime Aquarium Scout Day event patch.

Beginning Feb. 2, regular admission prices will apply:

  •  Aquarium  –  $19.95 for adults, $17.95 for youths (13-17) & seniors (65+), and $12.95 for children (3-12).
  •  Aquarium and IMAX  –  $24.95 adults, $22.95 youths & seniors, and $17.95 children.

Scout Day at The Maritime Aquarium offers hours of fun for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of all levels. As a troop or with their families, Scouts can get close to sharks, seals, sea turtles and all of the Aquarium’s fascinating marine animals, most of which are native to Long Island Sound.

Also, for a fee, Scouts can take part in Maritime Aquarium educational programs that support badge requirements. Times and costs of the Aquarium-led programs vary. Advance registration by March 1 is required. Aquarium admission is required.

As a special Scout Day bonus, Scouts can thrill to the new IMAX movie “National Parks Adventure,” playing on the Aquarium’s six-story screen more than two months before it opens to the public. Narrated by Robert Redford, the film offers the ultimate off-trail adventure into the nation’s awe-inspiring great outdoors and untamed wilderness. Yosemite, Yellowstone, the Arches, Everglades, the Redwoods and other parks are illuminated as never before with the power of IMAX cinematography, revealing a tapestry of natural wonders that will inspire young adventurers. Release of the movie coincides with our National Parks’ 100th anniversary. “National Parks Adventure” will play on the hour March 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

An Aquarium sleepover for Scouts on the night of March 12 is sold out.

Scout Day at The Maritime Aquarium is hosted by the Powahay District of the Boy Scouts of America’s Connecticut Yankee Council.
