CSH offering: Eco-friendly holiday shopping

Want to help save the environment while you shop til you drop? The Greenwich-based Convent of the Sacred Heart (CSH) says it’s offering that opportunity.

The CSH Parents’ Association will offer an eco-friendly shopping experience combining style with social responsibility on Monday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at “The Marketplace,” a free fund-raising event open to the public that will be held at the Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y.

The association said that CSH will “… introduce a modern take on the traditional holiday boutique at the event, which will bring together shoppers who are interested in sustaining the environment and businesses selling everything from fine gourmet foods to gifts for eco-forward lifestyles.”

Vendors at this event include Stone & Thistle Farm, Ladle of Love, Alpacatrax, Sprout Creek Farm and Bridgewater Chocolates and several others. Items will be available for the Thanksgiving table and for Christmas gifts.

The event’s theme will be “A Sustainable, Bountiful Harvest” and it was conceived by the association to reflect the school’s strong commitment to the environment in its community service and curriculum.

Proceeds from the event will support faculty professional development.
