Stanley Joseph Hillmer

U.S. Army World War II veteran Stanley Joseph Hillmer, reads the Stars and Stripes newspaper right after World War II ended.

Hilmer was a second lieutenant who served in World War II getting supplies to the Russians. Before entering the Army he was in the 101st Calvary and was in the same troop with former Governor Hugh Carey.

After World Ware II Hilmer worked as an advertising salesman for the newspapers the Journal American, the Daily News and then for many years with the New York Post.
