The Granola Bar’s second location to open in Greenwich

New menu to debut in Westport Nov. 11

The Granola Bar, a popular, Westport-based restaurant offering modern, healthy twists on traditional dishes, will open a second location in Greenwich in early 2016. The Granola Bar owners, Julie Levitt (Weston resident) and Dana Noorily (Westport resident), who opened their first location in Westport in 2013, are excited to bring their innovative and locally sourced breakfast and lunch options to Greenwich residents and businesses at 41 Greenwich Avenue, near the top of the popular shopping area.

The Granola Bar has been cultivating fans with popular menu items, from drinks such as Toby’s Estate coffee and signature smoothies to food favorites such as avocado toast, house-cured salmon and freshly made salads, since it opened its first location.

“We look forward to sharing our modern and delicious dishes with Greenwich and neighboring communities,” says Noorily. “Using the best local and organic ingredients, we are committed to elevating breakfast and lunch, with healthy fresh options,” adds Levitt.

The new 2700-square-foot restaurant will offer extensive seating and a large take-out section for people on the go. The Granola Bar will be open seven days a week, Mondays through Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Corporate and private party catering will also be available in the Greenwich location, as well as a daily coffee and baked goods delivery service to local businesses.

New Seasonal Dishes Added to Menu

Additionally, The Granola Bar will debut a new seasonal menu on November 11 in the Westport location. TGB customers will be introduced to several original and innovative dishes that the co-owners, Levitt and Noorily, and Director of Operations, Neil Rohricht have designed.

New sandwiches include The Bababooey, The Almond Chicken Club and The Yogi sandwiches. The Bababooey, named for famous Howard Stern executive producer and Greenwich resident Gary Dell’Abate, is roasted turkey breast, brie, mixed greens, cranberry aioli on multigrain panini. The Almond Chicken Club features house-made almond chicken salad, mixed greens, avocado, bacon, and sliced tomato on multigrain. The Yogi is a vegan option with julienne vegetables, cilantro, bean sprouts, spicy cashew non-dairy “cream” on a whole wheat wrap.

New salads include The Modern Farmly and The Harvest Bowl. The Modern Farmly is massaged kale, local Fleisher’s sausage, goat cheese, blueberries, spiced pumpkin seeds with maple mustard dressing. The Harvest Bowl is wild rice, cranberries, feta, cashews, and walnuts with citrus vinaigrette. Make-your-own salads will have a new twist with specially curated toppings and recommended pairings.

The menu will also have all new house-made salad dressings, which will also be available for sale in the takeout section. Dressings include: Tahini Goddess, Fig Balsamic Vinaigrette, Maple-Mustard Vinaigrette and Asian Ginger. New Soups and Starters to the menu are Sweet Toast with house-made jam and brie, and a non-dairy Cauliflower Chowder.

For adventurous and picky kids alike, The Granola Bar will continue to serve healthy alternatives to the favorite standbys, like grilled cheese, turkey sandwich on multigrain and house-made baked sweet potato chips.
