Greenwich Scouting holds Turkey Shoot Saturday

Greenwich Scouting will hold the 2015 Turkey Shoot Saturday, Nov. 7, from 1-3 p.m., at Ernest Thompson Seton Scout Reservation, 363 Riversville Road.

Activities include BB shooting, archery, slingshots, hammer throwing and engineering catapults. Boys also will compete to launch the “greatest distance” from our Giant Slingshot. BSA’s policy of “target shooting only” is enforced (that’s right, turkeys are safe!) and Cub Scouts will learn all about gun safety and proper shooting techniques at each station.

The event is held rain or shine, and light refreshments will be served.

Adventure, leadership, service and learning, especially in the outdoors, have remained essential to the Greenwich Scouting experience since its inception in 1912. Nearly 1,750 local youth participate in fun programs, like the Turkey Shoot, run by 250 dedicated volunteers, all of which help prepare local boys and girls for life. With over 20 partnering organizations and Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing and Exploring opportunities in Greenwich, Connecticut, there’s never been a better time to join the Scouting community.
