About Katherine Evans

Katherine Evans is an award winning abstract painter who works out of her Westport, CT studio. Her abstracts vibrate with color and assorted gestures. Color interaction and its ability to evoke an emotional response are important elements to her work. She is drawn to the color harmony of Helen Frankenthaler, Matisse, Rothko and Emily Mason among so many others. Her father, a noted WPA artist, worked on the famous Coit Tower murals in San Francisco. Evans studied graphic design at the University of Bridgeport and continued her education at the Parsons School of Design, Yale University and the Center for Contemporary Print Making in Norwalk. Within the last 15 years she has won many awards for paintings (including the Winner Circle Award at the Westport Arts Center as selected by the Whitney Museum Director) and been included in many juried exhibits. Katherine’s work can be found in private collections throughout the U.S. and Europe.

About Paul Favello

Paul Favello is an abstract painter who works out of his West Haven, CT studio. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Paier College of Art and continued his education at the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts. He has developed this series of colorful compositions based on non-representational striped-format paintings. By creating repetition of hue through subtle color shifts, along with harmonious color schemes, he manages to create a beautiful sense of rhythm and radiance in this work. Drawing on the work of Gene Davis and Bridget Riley, who pioneered this technique in the 1960’s, Paul paints each work by hand, taking up to 50 hours to complete. His work can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. and has been included in a show at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum titled “Undercover” in 2006, which was featured in the New York Times.
