Greenwich Historical Society holds Antiquarius, series of holiday events

Whether you’re a lover of fine antiques, eager to catch a glimpse of Greenwich’s most spectacular homes or just ready to start celebrating, Antiquarius, the Greenwich Historical Society’s annual series of high-style holiday events, is just the ticket.

Festivities begin with the Greenwich Winter Antiques Show, produced by Frank Gaglio, Inc. This year’s show has been expanded to three days, Dec. 4-6, and will feature more than 40 vendors displaying exquisite 18th- to mid-20th-century art, decorative objects, estate jewelry, furniture, prints and vintage accessories. The show is specially curated for the Greenwich market and offers a broad range of styles and price points–perfect for those seeking pieces for home decorating as well as for collectors. New this year, representatives from New York auction house Doyle will be available by appointment on Friday, December 4, to help determine just how much your family heirlooms are really worth.

Interested in shopping the Antiques Show before it opens to the public? Attend the “Back to the Future” themed Preview Party on December 3, chaired by Sabrina Raquet, M.E. Kjaernested and Jeanine Getz with design chair Samantha Knapp of Tiger Lily. The Preview Party not only offers early shopping, champagne, cocktails, a delightful light buffet supper and plenty of entertainment, but also provides a unique opportunity to chat one-on-one with some of the best dealers in the business.

The festive Holiday Boutique at Christ Church, chaired by Catie Salyer and Samantha Mollett, will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 8, and Wednesday, Dec. 9, with festive holiday shopping and unique gift and holiday items for everyone on your list. Passed hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served on Tuesday evening from 6-8:30 p.m. and the boutique will be open all day on Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The incomparable Holiday House Tour, chaired by Courtney Beiger and Morgan Melnikoff, will take place on Dec. 9, from 10-4, and spotlight five incredible properties and a cozy club luncheon (11:30-2). New this year is “Toast of the Tour” (4-6), chaired by Catherine Tompkins and Elizabeth Lake. Hosted at an exquisite Greenwich Landmark home, the champagne reception will feature renowned interior designer Charlotte Moss, who will give an informal talk about her latest book, Garden Inspirations.

Don’t miss this fantastic roster of events designed to raise crucial funds in support of the only organization in Greenwich solely focused on preserving and interpreting the town’s history. Funds raised support special exhibitions, preservation initiatives, education programs for all ages, a library and archives focused on all things Greenwich and beloved Bush-Holley Historic Site.
