LETTER: Support O’Neill and Rabin for BOE

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor:

On November 3, three Republicans and three Democrats are running for the Board of Education. Voters can vote for four BOE candidates; however, no more than two candidates can be elected from one party. For the Republican ticket, I urge you to vote for Barbara O’Neill and Lauren Rabin.

Both candidates are committed to improving the academic achievement of each child and changing to a later school start time for Greenwich High students. Having chaired the BOE for the past two years with a steady hand, Barbara, a long-time Greenwich schools teacher and administrator, has delivered a BOE budget within budget guidelines and has spearheaded the development of a strategic plan for the district to allows it to prioritize resources.

Lauren, a marketing professional at a technology company and an active community volunteer for the past 20 years, is committed to using digital learning to allow each child to achieve to his or her academic potential and to partnering with community agencies to help our students. Finally, I believe that Barbara and Lauren have demonstrated that they have the people skills to work constructively with their fellow BOE members and residents to improve our kids’ education in Greenwich.

Please join me on November 3 in supporting Barbara O’Neill and Lauren Rabin for BOE.

Nancy Weissler

BOE 2005-2009, Chairman 2007-2009
