Combine Training hosts open house, speaker from Kids in Crisis

Combine Training, the 4,200 square foot state-of-the-art training facility, will host an open house for friends, family and newcomers on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m., 469 West Putnam Avenue, Greenwich.

Combine, showcasing their 16 newly designed Computrainer bikes, Woodway treadmills, and 30-foot turf, will feature guest speaker Alon Marom, Director of Development at Kids in Crisis based out of Cos Cob. Director Marom will be on hand to give a brief overview of Kids in Crisis which is Connecticut’s only free, round-the-clock agency providing emergency shelter, crisis counseling and community educational programs for children of all ages and families dealing with a wide range of crises- domestic violence, mental health and family problems, substance abuse, economic difficulties and more.

Since its founding in 1978, Kids in Crisis has helped more than 132,000 Connecticut children and families; last year, 6,184 children and families received assistance from the organization. Director Marom will also educate the group about their affiliation with the Navigators Stamford KIC IT Triathlon and 5K/10K. Refreshments and light bites will be served.

Combine boasts of one of the largest Computrainer bike set ups in the Fairfield and Westchester Counties, offering private and group training for athletes, elite, professional, amateur, collegiate, high school and youth of all levels. Class schedules can be obtained on the site (combinetrainingct.com), with single or multiple class packages available online. For those newcomers who are in attendance at the Open House, an additional 25% off Private Training Package will also be offered.

Craig Vitale, a Greenwich resident, started his career as a Greenwich Cardinal at Greenwich High School and was named First Team All-FCIAC and First Team All-State for football. He moved on to play ball for University of Tennessee, then completed his Exercise Science Degree at University of Southern Connecticut. After graduation, Vitale moved on to work at NYSC, where he was named #1 National Trainer in 2001. Vitale entered the triathlon world in 2002 and has been involved ever since. An Ironman since 2007, he has both competed in the Ironman World Championships in 2010, 2012 and 2014. Vitale was also named All-American Triathlete from 2009-2014. In addition, Craig trains several of the YMCA Marlin’s swim teams and the Triple Crown Darien Blue Wave boys and girls swim teams. Vitale’s professional certifications include NASM, ACE, AAA1-ISMA, AFAA, Athletes Performance Mentorship, FMS 1- 2 Certified and USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach.

Vitale who founded Combine originally in 2011, knows that he and his staff have one job at Combine, and that is “to get results.” He firmly believes that “there is no off season” and prides himself on professionalism, unparalleled customer service, and never asks his athletes to do anything he would not himself understand or do. Vitale is extremely excited to form an alliance with Kids in Crisis and looks forward to educating the Combine family and community about the incredible work that they do. “I am a firm believer in giving back to the community, and this is one small way that we can do so,” states Vitale.
