RIS Green Team hosts birdhouse monitoring family breakfast & nature walk

Rogers International School (RIS) Green Team hosts a birdhouse monitoring family breakfast & nature walk Saturday, June 27, from 9:30-11 a.m., at Rogers International School, 202 Blachley Road, Stamford.

Space is limited to 10 families; RSVP is required by emailing [email protected]

Suggested donation is $3 adult or $5 family (funds go towards expanding RIS Green Team’s Green initiatives.)

The guided walk includes a stop at the Purple Martin House and each of the other five bird houses, the RIS Green Team monitors. Participants will explore each house’s features and resident-birds through close observation, interactive tutoring and Q&A session.

Participants should wear comfortable shoes. Meet at the picnic tables at the roof garden (start at the flag poles by the main entrance, walk up the trail, bear left at the top of the hill, enter roof garden trail and follow until the end).

BYO breakfast or buy from a selection of pastries/beverages available.

Please note events are contingent to nice weather.

This will be the first topic of RIS Green Team’s new Nature Walks initiative. Children who attend the family walk will receive their first destination stamp in their Nature Journey Passport. Future events will then provide opportunities for new stamps to be collected over time.
