Father son team take first place in boat race

Ken Salamone, a resident of Riverside, and his 18-year-old son, E.J. (who just graduated from St. Luke’s) are passionate power boaters. E.J grew up vacationing on Lake George in the Adirondacks where Ken has a home and leisure boating soon turned into getting faster and faster boats, to now racing professionally.

They have taken their love for the lake (and boats) to a whole new level by competing in boat race competitions nationally via Offshore Powerboat Association, with their Class 5, 30’ foot Superboat called 518 Rufstr.

Now entering their second year of professional boat racing, Ken and E.J. landed third place overall last year and just won first place in their class at first race of the season in the 2015 Seaside Heights Barnegat Bay Grand Prix in New Jersey at the end of May, beating out nine other boats.
