Julian Curtiss students take a walk inside the Earth Balloon

On Tuesday, June 9, and Wednesday, June, 10, the students at Julian Curtiss Elementary experienced learning on a whole new level with a walk through the Earth Balloon, a 20’ diameter model of the earth. Up to 30 students were able to enter this inflatable model of the earth at a time and learn about our planet by viewing the model’s high resolution satellite images with true to life colors.

Every class at Julian Curtiss was able to enter the Earth Balloon and engage in a dynamic grade appropriate discussion. Awe and amazement were evident in the faces of teachers and students alike during their visit.

Principal Trish McGuire commented, “I could hear the “oohs and aaahs,” throughout the days the Earth Balloon was at JC.  It’s such a pleasure to see the students enjoy learning!  The energy and excitement that the Earth Balloon created was fantastic!  The kids have a new appreciation of our planet Earth.”

Julian Curtiss School prides itself on our international and diverse character. We are a school that represents 60 Nations, 30 Languages, One Great School.
