'Understanding Depression as You Age'

Mary Ellen Porrata

RVNA and At Home in Greenwich are organizing an educational presentation, “Understanding Depression as You Age,” on Tuesday, June 16, at 10 a.m., at Second Congregational Church, 139 East Putnam Avenue in Greenwich. Mary Ellen Porrata, RVNA Community Health & Wellness Nurse, will be the speaker.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, depression is a true and treatable medical condition, not a normal part of aging. However, older adults are at an increased risk for experiencing depression. Porrata will shed light on the risk factors for depression in older adults, diagnostic considerations, and potential treatments.

Attendees should RSVP to At Home in Greenwich at 203-422-2343.
