Greenwich nonprofit receives grant from Bank of America

Horizons National Student Enrichment Program with a location in Greenwich is among 51 nonprofits across Connecticut that have received a total of $425,000 in grants from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, to support workforce development and employment training.

Twenty-seven of the organizations serve populations in the Southern Connecticut area.

“Our partnering organizations are committed to connecting the unemployed, underemployed, veteran and disabled people in our community with training and fulfilling employment opportunities,” said Bill Tommins, Southern Connecticut market president, Bank of America. “Teaching these critical skills can make our neighborhoods and economy stronger.”

The grants are part of Bank of America’s commitment to Connecticut. In 2014, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation gave more than $2 million to help local nonprofit organizations develop and grow.
