Lecture series: Hans Hofmann’s Legacy

Stacey Gershon presents Hofmann’s Legacy, exploring Hans Hofmann’s influence on art and artists, from his teaching in the 1950s to his continuing impact today Thursday, June 11, 6:30-8:30, at the Bruce Museum.

Gershon, an independent curator and art advisor to private and corporate clients, is the collections manager of the Renate, Hans and Maria Hofmann Trust. She formerly was the Senior Curator for the J.P. Morgan Chase Art Collection.

The Goergen Lectures for spring 2015 are devoted to the origins, flowering, and long-range impact of the remarkable art of Hans Hofmann, the subject of the Bruce Museum’s major spring show, Walls of Color: The Murals of Hans Hofmann.

Dessert and open gallery at 6:30, lecture at 7:30.
